Under the auspices of the Social Contribution Coordination Office, with the support of the Burdur Development Center and the Sustainability Coordination Office, the MAKÜ University Students Project Competition will be organized within the framework of the slogan “From Universal Knowledge to Social Contribution.” This project competition, which will be held under the leadership of our university, is a social contribution project competition open to the participation of all university students (associate degree, undergraduate, and postgraduate) in Turkey. The competition aims to raise awareness and contribute to society based on the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals. While aiming to increase students' awareness of social contribution, the development of projects in line with these goals is prioritized.
The themes of the competition have been determined within the framework of the “United Nations Sustainable Development 2030 Goals” along seventeen main themes. The projects to be created from the themes must be socially focused. The competition themes consist of; No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Clean Water and Sanitation, Affordable and Clean Energy, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, Reduced Inequalities, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action, Life Below Water, Life on Land, Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, Partnerships for the Goals.
Pre-applications for the project competition will be accepted between April 1, 2024, and May 15, 2024. The projects that pass the preliminary evaluation will be announced on the Social Contribution Coordination Office website. As a result of the competition; a cash prize of 50,000 TL will be awarded to the first place, 40,000 TL to the second place, 30,000 TL to the third place, 20,000 TL to the fourth place, and 10,000 TL to the fifth place. Additionally, some projects selected by the jury will also be awarded the Jury Special Prize.
